Residence Hall Director (Professional Services Specialist
4) – 12‑month, live‑in professional staff employee central to the operation of a residence hall or area housing approximately 250 – 1,000 residents. Supervised by the Managing Assistant Director and Director of Residence Life.
• Manage total operation of assigned residence hall(s).
• Select, supervise, train, and evaluate student staff including Resident Assistants, Desk Assistants, and Community Assistants.
• Provide developmental programming, judicial intervention, and advisement for residents.
• Perform administrative tasks, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, enforce university policy, discipline, participate in an on‑call system, and serve on committees integral to residence life.
• Create an environment conducive to academic excellence and personal development, fostering community among residents.
• Work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays; on‑campus residency; travel to off‑campus or other campus locations as required.
Qualifications• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and at least one year of professional experience in housing and residence life or related student affairs position.
• Master's degree in a related field may substitute for the one year of required experience.
• Preferred: experience with residence hall student development, facilities operations, and residence life programs in higher education.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and leadership skills.
• Computer literate.
Benefits• Negotiated annual salary: $55,142.18 (Step
1). Salary for internal applicants based on union negotiated calculations.
