Data Center Program Manager – Sustainability

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability, environmental, and energy management programs across owned and leased data center facilities.
• Develop, implement, and enhance ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified Environmental and Energy Management Systems.
• Improve operational performance by managing KPIs, preparing executive reports, supporting audits, and using data-driven governance practices.
• Deliver sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives aligned with regional priorities and Microsoft’s 2030 sustainability goals
  , including Carbon Negative, Water Positive, Zero Waste, and ecosystem conservation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental audits, regulatory compliance, sustainability reporting, and governance activities at site level.
• Monitor operational risks, environmental incidents, compliance requirements, and regional data center operational programs.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks for key sustainability metrics such as PUE, WUE, IUE, emissions, audit performance, and environmental indicators.
• Collaborate across multiple teams and locations to standardize governance processes, ensure operational consistency, and promote best practices.
• Support workforce planning, operational forecasting, and readiness activities to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on emissions reduction, biodiversity protection, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and environmental performance.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to support project delivery and minimize operational risks.
• Maintain high standards for health and safety, security, service availability, sustainability performance, customer satisfaction, and operational quality.

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering, Information Technology
  , or a related technical discipline.
• Experience working in mission-critical environments
  , including power systems, cooling infrastructure, IT operations, and sustainability programs.
• Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards, including implementation, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in program management
  , change management
  , and driving operational improvements.
• Valid driver’s license.
