Accountant, Accounts Receivable​/ Collections, Financial Reporting

CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our reputable law firm client in Central Nassau County seeking an Accountant with Legal experience to join its onsite team. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this role offers a hybrid work option after training. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and demonstrate proficiency in handling a range of accounting functions.

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with sales/use tax regulations
• Input invoices and manage payments through the firm’s accounting systems
• Handle accounts payable duties including payment processing, investigating inquiries, and assisting with annual 1099 forms
• Perform general ledger tasks, including journal entries, account analysis, and schedule preparation
• Assist with accounts receivable by recording incoming payments, processing credit card transactions, and investigating payment discrepancies
• Manage escrow and trust account activity, including reconciliations and schedule preparation
• Support payroll processing by inputting payroll information, reviewing payroll previews, and assisting with annual W-2 reviews
• Provide backup support for daily cash reports and participate in process improvements and ad hoc projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Three or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or legal environment
• Experience with Aderant, Chrome River/Emburse Enterprise, Ceridian software and systems is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Effective multitasking and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and attention to detail
• Ability to manage a high volume of transactions efficiently

Compensation range is between $75-$90K/year depending on experience.
