Accounting Analyst | Uniondale, NY | Hybrid (4 days in-office)
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to join its Uniondale office. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable- Review, code, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper authorization and tax compliance
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and process vendor payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and respond to payment inquiries
- Handle expense reimbursements and assist with annual 1099 processing
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with monthly account analyses and reconciliations
- Support matter and employee maintenance within the accounting system
- Record incoming wire transfers and check deposits
- Process client credit card payments
- Research and resolve payments with missing or incomplete remittance information
- Process and record escrow transactions in compliance with firm procedures
- Prepare weekly escrow reports and reconciliations
- Input and review payroll data
- Assist with payroll transmission and annual W-2 review
- Support daily cash reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Assist with ad hoc projects and provide cross-functional backup support
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or law firm environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting and expense management systems (e.g., Aderant, Chrome River, Ceridian Dayforce) is a plus
