Description
Lockheed Martin’s RMS team at Mitchel Field, Long Island (NYC Metro Area) is seeking a full‑time Early Career Electrical Engineer to join a fast moving hardware group that supports the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Navigation Submarine Program. The role involves rotating across a variety of tasks – CCA/board design and troubleshooting, FPGA development, cable assembly design, network diagram creation – providing broad exposure to tactical and auxiliary systems across the entire engineering product lifecycle.
Candidates will collaborate with teams and directly with the customer to respond to emergent issues and concerns from fleet and forward sites.
- Rotate across tasks including CCA/board design, FPGA development, cable assembly design, and network diagram creation.
- Respond to emergent issues and concerns from fleet and forward sites in collaboration with internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) from an accredited institution.
- 1–2 years of relevant professional experience (internships, co‑ops, or full‑time).
- Applied experience with core EE concepts such as circuit analysis, power distribution, signal integrity, etc.
- Experience working with electrical design documentation (schematics, network diagrams, CCA/board layouts).
- Familiarity with FPGA design flow.
- Ability to work effectively on Agile teams, both on‑site and remotely.
- Strong interpersonal and time‑management skills.
- U.S. citizen with eligibility for a government security clearance.
- Advanced degree (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
- Proficiency with CAE tools such as Altium Designer, Zuken CR‑8000, or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Hands‑on FPGA experience (e.g., Xilinx/Intel families) including IP integration and board bring‑up.
- Power‑systems knowledge (UPS, battery management, etc).
- Familiarity with Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) concepts, including inertial navigation algorithms.
This position requires a government security clearance and the candidate must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level:
Secret.
The base range for this position in New York is $101,654–$160,620.
