The IT Senior Analyst, Networking is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and continuous optimization of LIPA's enterprise network infrastructure to support reliable, secure, and resilient business operations. This role provides advanced technical expertise across our data center, cloud, and remote connectivity solutions while ensuring network performance, availability, and cybersecurity best practices.
This role requires deep technical expertise in enterprise and cloud networking, strong problem‑solving skills, and a collaborative mindset. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing network infrastructure that aligns with organizational goals and supports business continuity.
The IT Senior Analyst, Networking serves as a technical lead for complex network initiatives, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure network reliability, security, and scalability. This includes managing complex projects, advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis and maintaining compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Other Essential Job Functions include:- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, and cloud-based networks.
- Configure and maintain Cisco switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls, and Meraki wireless systems and security cameras.
- Implement and manage Cisco ISE for network access control.
- Monitor network performance, trouble shoot, and resolve issues related to poor network performance or loss of connectivity.
- Implement and manage cloud networking technologies, including Azure Express Route, Azure Firewall, and hybrid connectivity.
- Provide escalation support for complex network issues and collaborate with the service desk.
- Participate in disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) exercises.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third‑party vendors to deliver network projects on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular network performance assessments and capacity planning to ensure optimal operation and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and industry standards by implementing and maintaining appropriate network security controls and monitoring systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis of network outages and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring high availability and reliability of services.
- Serve as a technical resource to IT staff by providing guidance on complex network issues, sharing technical knowledge and supporting network infrastructure initiatives. Perform other duties as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Experience configuring and managing Cisco and Palo Alto devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
