The Academy Charter School Security Guard protects school property and ensures the safety of pupils and staff by providing adult supervision inside and outside of the school.

• Patrol hallways, main entrances, and recreation areas and occasionally provide supervision as needed.
• Provide supervision for bus areas during arrival and dismissal times.
• Check perimeter to ensure no unauthorized access into school; verify doors are locked and detect potentially harmful activity.
• Check the functioning of the security system.
• Check first-floor restrooms.
• Provide direction to visitors at the main entrance; ensure visitors sign in.
• Control building access and respond to alarms.
• Alert administrators of problems arising from congestion or other sources.
• Responsible for the safety and welfare of all students during admission and dismissal.
• Interact with students, parents and colleagues in a professional, positive, and inspiring manner.
• Other tasks as assigned.

The hourly range for this role is $18.00/hr - $21.50/hr base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

• High School Diploma required.
• NYS Security Guard License required.
• Previous security guard experience, preferably in a school environment.
• Strong written, grammatical, and communication skills.
