Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Uniontown, PA

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed private Stepdown unit with a patient population that includes heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
• Monitor, read, and interpret telemetry strips; serve as part of the central monitor station for the hospital
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin; manage set-rate insulin infusions
• Manage patients on Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen therapy
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (up to 1:6 for Med Surg acuity patients) and participate in every-other-weekend and rotating holiday scheduling
• May float to the ICU in a supportive capacity as needed

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (must be unexpired)
• Current ACLS certification (must be unexpired)
• Current NIHSS certification (must be unexpired)
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Experience titrating drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting with a cardiac-focused patient population
• Familiarity with Cerner and/or EPIC electronic medical record systems
• Experience managing patients on Bipap, CPAP, or High Flow oxygen therapy

• Work alongside robust in-house support including 24/7 Hospitalist coverage, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy, as well as Intensivist availability seven days a week
• Block scheduling is available, and unit leadership is known for proactive, supportive communication with travel staff regarding scheduling
