About the Role
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports Plasma Center operations at Bio Life, ensuring donor and employee safety and maintaining regulatory compliance. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and works under guidance from the Center Physician, Bio Life Medical Affairs, and EHS.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Assess donor reactions and respond to medical emergencies per SOPs, coordinate with the Center Physician for standing orders, and facilitate donor transport to emergency care.
- Escalate unsatisfactory findings or medical/technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator for investigations and support when authorized by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Graduate‑level nursing program that meets state requirements. - Licensed or certified as a LPN or LVN in the state of employment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successfully complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44.
