About the Role
At Bio Life Plasma Services, you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting center operations. A commitment to customer service and quality is expected.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and evaluation of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop physician standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or higher, and, if applicable, a recognized nursing program graduate with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state of assignment (LPN or LVN).
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications and experience.
