Nurse Paraprofessional; LPN - SPED

Assist 1 on 1 with the provision of routine and emergency medical needs for a school age child, e.g., tube feeding, toileting, skin care, and positioning. 7.0 hours/day (8:15a - 3:45pm), 5 days/week, 195 days/year. Administer medication for emergency seizure control for any student. Under the supervision of the building principal, the school nurse and the head nurse.

Please note:

This assignment will involve assisting a preschool student with a tracheotomy.

Minimum Qualifications:

• LPN
• Passage of the Para Pro Assessment
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in operating basic office equipment
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with students with disabilities
