Operations Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Promote a safety culture in support of the corporate goal of zero OSHA recordable accidents.
  • Develop and maintain safety process support systems within HEBU, including action item logs, safety walks, training, and job safety briefings.
  • Provide leadership for all aspects of HEBU production to support customer schedule requirements, collaborating with the Engineering Manager and Production Control Manager to manage production priorities based on the Production Schedule and Manufacturing Resource Capacity plan.
  • Manage production planning and level loading of all production departments, ensuring staffing levels are optimized using capacity reporting tools.
  • Execute incremental project milestones.
  • Apply continuous improvement (CI) and lean techniques to support improvements in quality, project velocity, and project margin performance.
  • Meet or exceed project estimates.
  • Identify and implement, in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering, process and capital equipment/technology improvements.
  • Utilize quality systems, including ISO 9001 and AAR standards (when applicable), to ensure compliance with customer and product requirements.
  • Develop and utilize KPIs in the areas of safety, quality, cost (productivity), and delivery as a baseline to optimize and improve business performance, using lean daily management visual systems to measure progress and establish countermeasures for improvement.
  • Create and execute plans for team development of department leads, ensuring cross training plans are in place to support the business.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots) as required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  • Indoor office environment, outdoor environment, and shop floor activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience of direct production management experience within a manufacturing company, preferably heavy equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Lean Principles; a Green Belt and/or Black Belt would be a definite plus.

This role will require to sign both a non-compete and non-solicit agreement. The candidate will be eligible for a $500 Sign-On Bonus for each form they sign, totaling $1000. This Sign-On Bonus will be paid out on the first pay period following date of hire.
