Position Specifics
The Bennett Family Center, on the University Park campus, is seeking a candidate for an Early Childhood Development Educator – Intermediate Professional (working with children 6 weeks to 3 years old) committed to the process of creating and providing high quality learning environments for young children and families.
Responsibilities- Supporting and maintaining high quality classroom standards in a laboratory setting
- Coordinating and implementing an innovative curriculum model with a team of colleagues
- Establishing and maintaining relationships of cooperation and respect with all co-workers, supervisors, and families
- Providing oversight and training of interns and student teachers in early childhood education undergraduate programs
- Maintaining standards in accordance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation and PA Keystone STARS 4 quality standards
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience. A Child Development (CDA) Credential is also acceptable; refer to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania PA Career Lattice information and NAEYC guidelines for typical experience and education requirements.
A health physical with TB test is required prior to starting the position.

Background Checks / ClearancesThis position requires PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, and National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR). Additional clearances may be necessary if you resided outside of Pennsylvania in the past five years.
Salary & BenefitsThe salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $34,800.00 - $50,500.00.
