Job Description and Position Requirements
Penn State’s University Park Work Link program is seeking student assistants for the Fall and Spring. Work Link is housed in the College of Education, Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling and Special Education. Work Link is a fully integrated, on‑campus, non‑residential 2‑year certificate program that provides the opportunity for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities () to participate in post‑secondary experiences and education alongside their peers.
We are seeking assistants to work between 5–40 hours per week, depending on availability, and for credit assistantship requirements in students’ majors (if applicable).
- Assist in tutoring students and working on readings and course assignments each week
- Job development and job coaching
- Help Work Link faculty with program supports as needed, including managing databases, communicating with other faculty, promoting the program, preparing and presenting Work Link seminar topics, and related duties
- Organize mentor/tutor scheduling and events for Work Link students
- Work between 5–40 hours per week, depending on availability
- Available during normal working hours (M-F 8–4) with occasional nights and weekends as needed
- May receive credit for the assistantship with approval of the assistantship coordinator/advisor for the student’s major, if applicable
- Preferred:
Students who have volunteered with the Work Link program in the past as a tutor or mentor - Must submit a resume, cover letter, and one letter of recommendation
- Will be paid $15 per hour
- Accepts background check(s) in accordance with University policies
