Job Description and Position Requirements
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to perform research under the direction of Professor Aman Haque (Mechanical Engineering) & Professor Doug Wolfe (Materials Science & Engineering).
Job Duties- Perform electrical characterization on semiconductor devices as a function of radiation exposure. The specimens are discrete wide bandgap devices (diodes and transistors), as well as larger systems (field programmable gate arrays, memory).
- Collaborate with national lab(s) to perform experiments that mimic ionizing radiation.
- Perform modeling and/or experimental analysis (microscopy, spectroscopy) to investigate the fundamentals of radiation effects in electronics.
- Analyze data.
- Disseminate findings in journals and conferences.
- Must have Ph.D. by the start of the appointment in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Materials/Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass the Sandia National Lab Screening and receive approval to the National Lab.
- Excellent foundation on semiconductor device physics, reliability.
- Hands on experience with device and system (FPGA, memory) characterization.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Experience in radiation effects (single event, total ionize dose, displacement damage) is very helpful.
