Technical Service Janitorial Worker

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State's Office of Physical Plant is searching for full time Janitorial Workers to join their team.

Duties include:

• Collect waste from work area; wash chalkboard, gather dirty erasers and supply clean erasers
• Dust, dust mop floors, wet mop floors, spot clean and vacuum rugs, runners etc., rotate runners and clean stairways
• Wash glass, mirrors, light fixtures, wainscoting, railings, toilet fixtures, etc., clean restrooms and stock dispensers
• Wash and polish furniture, brass, etc.
• Maintain equipment and materials used to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
• Lock doors, close and lock windows and turn out lights
• Report needed repairs to Group Leader or Supervisor

Job Requirements: Requires the use of simple writing, adding, subtracting, whole numbers and the carrying out of instructions; and the use of fixed gauges and direct reading instruments and devices in which interpretation is not required. Up to 3 months of effective experience.

Shift could be:

• 1st shift:
  Monday - Friday 5:00 a.m.
  
  - 1:30 p.m.
• 2nd shift:
  Monday - Friday 4:30 p.m.
  
  - 1:00 a.m.
• 3rd shift:
  Sunday evening - Friday morning 10:00 p.m.
  
  - 6:30 a.m.
