Dr. Kristina Petersen's Lab – Part-Time Research Assistant

Dr. Kristina Petersen’s laboratory in the Department of Nutritional Sciences is seeking dynamic part‑time research assistants to join our highly productive research kitchen for the summer of 2026 (May to August). The kitchen produces tightly controlled meals and diets for research studies conducted at Penn State.

• Prepare, cook, and pack research meals and snacks according to standard protocols and recipes.
• Engage with research participants to provide instructions and assess adherence to the research protocol.
• Perform research‑related administrative tasks and data entry.
• Assist with the overall operation of the research kitchen as needed, working individually or as part of a team.

• Proactive, task‑oriented, and attentive to detail.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude, love of food, and willingness to learn.
• Experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus.
• Willingness to undertake training in human subjects research (training is provided).
• Available to work at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

This is an in‑person role located in State College, Pennsylvania. The position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week during the summer period (May–August 2026).
