Job Overview
Dr. Lieurance in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management has an opening for paid part‑time Research Assistants. The successful candidate will support sponsored research that conducts invasion status assessments on non‑native species in the United States.
Responsibilities- Receive training with U.S. Department of Agriculture sponsors.
- Complete status assessments of non‑native plants.
- Conduct literature reviews.
- Assist in reviewing completed assessments.
- Attend regular meetings and other related tasks.
This work supports the USDA‑APHIS‑PPQ Weed Status Assessment (WSA), a process that determines the invasive potential of high‑risk non‑native plants. The results guide biological control programs by prioritizing species for interaction with natural enemies.
