Field Research Assistant - Corn Agronomy & Genotyping

Job Description And Position Requirements

Prepare corn seeds for machine planting at the agronomy farm. Assist in planting, corn crop management, and follow agronomic practices. Collect various plant data starting from seed germination to maturity. Collect and bring samples to the lab for PCR based genotyping. Perform crosses and selves of selected plants. Harvest and send samples for analysis. Perform seed collection, drying, storage, and cataloguing.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
