Job Description and Position Requirements
Animal Nutritional Physiology research group is seeking part-time assistance with dairy nutrition experiments at the Penn State Dairy farm. The position will primarily be responsible for collecting and weighing feed refusals, calculating the amount of feed needed each day, and mixing and delivering feed to cows on nutrition experiments. The work requires early morning hours (~5:30 to 8:30 AM), 3 to 4 days per week, and also assisting with collection of milk samples some mornings.
Remote or hybrid work approval is not guaranteed regardless of work location.
- Collect and weigh feed refusals.
- Calculate daily feed requirements.
- Mix and deliver feed to cows in the nutrition experiments.
- Assist with collection of milk samples on selected mornings.
- Work 3 to 4 days per week during early morning hours (5:30‑8:30 AM).
- Lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
- Have prior experience with cows or other large animals (preferred).
