POSITION SPECIFICS
Position: C‑TEQ Fellow Postdoctoral Scholar. This is a term position with flexible start dates; term length will be discussed during the interview. Continuation will be considered based on university need, performance, and funding.
Location:
Penn State Center for Theory of Emergent Quantum Matter (C‑TEQ), within the Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) Quantum Hub.
Conduct research in emergent quantum matter, quantum information, quantum materials, quantum computation, artificial intelligence, numerical methods for emergent quantum matter, quantum geometry, Majorana modes, fractional quantum anomalous Hall effect, and related topics. Collaborate with faculty across physics, mathematics, computer science, materials science, electrical engineering, and information science to advance the C‑TEQ research agenda.
QUALIFICATIONSPh.D. required by the start of the position. Applicants must have expertise in quantum information, quantum materials, quantum computation, artificial intelligence, and numerical tools for emergent quantum matter, as well as proficiency in quantum geometry, Majorana modes, and fractional quantum anomalous Hall effects.
SALARY AND BENEFITSSalary of $80,000 for the first year, with an additional one‑time award of $5,000 toward research‑related expenses such as conferences. Full‑time benefits are provided as part of the Penn State Postdoctoral Benefits package.
