Part-Time Research Assistant​/Associate - Muscle Function and Locomotion - Biomechanics Laboratory

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Muscle Function and Locomotion Group within Penn State’s Biomechanics Laboratory is seeking a dedicated part‑time laboratory assistant to support ongoing research projects and routine laboratory maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

• Animal monitoring
• Assistance with experimental procedures, such as biomechanical movement assessments and metabolic measurements
• Supply ordering and inventory management
• Assistance on human‑based research projects, as needed
• Assistance with electronics and in designing and manufacturing novel research equipment and software, depending on experience

Qualifications:

• No prior animal or human research experience required
• Comfortable interacting with animals in research settings
• Will be required to complete required institutional training (IACUC, EHS, etc.) prior to working on research protocols
