JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Muscle Function and Locomotion Group within Penn State’s Biomechanics Laboratory is seeking a dedicated part‑time laboratory assistant to support ongoing research projects and routine laboratory maintenance.
Responsibilities include:
- Animal monitoring
- Assistance with experimental procedures, such as biomechanical movement assessments and metabolic measurements
- Supply ordering and inventory management
- Assistance on human‑based research projects, as needed
- Assistance with electronics and in designing and manufacturing novel research equipment and software, depending on experience
Qualifications:
- No prior animal or human research experience required
- Comfortable interacting with animals in research settings
- Will be required to complete required institutional training (IACUC, EHS, etc.) prior to working on research protocols
Employment will require successful completion of background checks in accordance with University policies.
