The Department of Plant Science seeks to hire a dependable and self-motivated person who is interested in soil fertility and nutrient management in cropping systems. The research will focus on nutrient cycling, soil health, cover crops, and water quality.
Job Duties- The successful candidate will work with faculty, staff and graduate students to learn field and laboratory techniques for quantifying soil nitrogen, phosphorous, sulfur, and plant sampling techniques in cover and cash crops.
- The position requires work in outdoor settings, such as corn and soybean fields, along with laboratory tasks.
- Employment will require operation of a motor vehicle; a valid U.S. driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to background checks.
- The candidate must be able to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Successful completion of background checks in accordance with University policies is required.
