Position Requirements
The Penn State College of Health and Human Development’s Child Health Research Center (CHRC) is seeking part‑time Research Assistants for the Fall 2026 semester. Selected candidates will support multiple ongoing research and outreach projects by assisting with data entry, field‑based data collection, kitchen preparation, and a range of administrative and organizational tasks. Most responsibilities will take place in Noll Laboratory, with some activities located at College Heights.
Availability for full‑day field‑based data collection visits (8:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) is preferred.
Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective organizational and time‑management skills, and the ability to follow research protocols accurately. They should be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team, communicate professionally with staff and participants, and maintain confidentiality of research data. Prior experience with data collection, data entry, food preparation, or research‑related activities is desirable but not required.
Reliability, flexibility, and an interest in child health, nutrition, or behavioral research are strongly valued.
This position requires PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check in addition to applicable background checks.
