JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Students working at the poultry farm will assist in all facets of the operation. Duties include cleaning and disinfection of pens, setting up new pens for research projects and facility birds, feeding, water management, egg collection and processing and sales, meat bird and turkey processing for sales, incubation and hatching of eggs, artificial insemination of hens and collection of fertile eggs, feed mixing and ration development.
Students will also collect data with department investigators. Hours vary throughout the week, weekends are mandatory. Housing is available on a limited basis.
This position requires operation of a motor vehicle. A valid U.S. driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required, in addition to standard background checks.
