HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (T230325)
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST to join a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven Learning and Development team. In this role, you’ll be the go‑to person for keeping things running smoothly by managing communications, coordinating training logistics, maintaining learning records, and supporting new employee onboarding. If you’re organized, resourceful, good with details, and love making things happen behind the scenes, we’d love to have you on our team.
RESPONSIBILITIESRespond to and manage inquiries across the department’s incoming mail account and Employee Support Ticketing System (Freshdesk).
Maintain comprehensive training records of enrollment or registration processes in our Learning Management System (LMS) by tracking attendance and uploading session recordings in a timely manner.
Coordinate event logistics by setting up and breaking down training rooms and validating participant parking.
Order and maintain inventory of office supplies, snacks, program materials, and occasional catering to support daily operations and special events.
Manage the enrollment process for New Employee Orientation (Discover UAB programs), including registration tracking, roster updates, and participant communications.
Attend all virtual programs in the support role of producer to assist with Zoom settings, polls, chat, and links.
(Hourly Rate: $18.85 - $23.65)
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to input data quickly and accurately.
- Task Management & Organization: Uses tools or systems to manage tasks, prioritize effectively, and stay organized. Consistently meets deadlines with minimal oversight or reminders.
- Professional Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders both in person, virtual, and in writing.
- Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrates responsiveness, empathy, and professionalism in stakeholder interactions.
- Time Management & Independence: Manages workload independently and follows through without frequent follow‑ups.
