Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I/ II (AAI/ II) (holding the functional title of Senior Manager/ Manager) in the Mainland Research Projects Office (.: 536922), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of administrative experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in tertiary institutions or comparable organisations. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; sound judgement; strong attention to detail; and the ability to work independently, take initiative and perform effectively under pressure.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as AAII.

The appointee will play a key role in advancing the University’s Mainland research initiatives through strategic engagement with Chinese Mainland funding bodies, government-related organisations, partner institutions, research units and other key stakeholders. Major duties include coordinating Mainland research grant applications and project administration; facilitating communication and collaboration between internal offices and external Mainland parties; organising meetings, visits, events and engagement activities to strengthen institutional relationships;

providing secretarial and executive support to relevant committees, working groups and taskforces; and assisting in office management and operational coordination for the Mainland Research Projects Office. Occasional travel to Chinese Mainland may be required.
