Overview
FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a FUNCTIONAL ANALYST-ENT to provide support for assigned systems to both internal and external customers. To act as a liaison across multiple departments to facilitate request analysis, problem analysis, and process improvement. To utilize technical knowledge and abilities to participate in system design and testing as well as maintain system tables and files within the assigned scope of responsibility.
To serve in an advisory role to support advances in clinical and business functioning by applying information technology processes and common technical resources in assigned scope. To work on special projects, as assigned. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as HIPAA and FERPA, on an annual basis.
- Process monthly billing of IT services using PCR, SQL Server and custom windows programs.
- Create ad-hoc and recurring reports from a variety of data sources, and in a variety of formats, for both internal IT users and external customers using SQL, Python, Excel and Word.
- Write custom programs and create scheduled jobs on MS SQL Servers and Windows Servers to automate reports.
- Maintain MS SQL databases by: controlling access; configurations; maintaining, investigating, troubleshooting, and debugging errors; creating and scheduling jobs; creating databases, tables and queries, and views.
- Administer and configure processes in the Service Now enterprise ITMS system, including user/group access, ticket creation, assignment and report creation, and development of request forms.
- Serve as system administrator for specific, department-used systems.
- Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
