MAINTENANCE FIELD SUPERVISOR‑CAMPUS MAINTENANCE (T231275) Position Summary
Responsible for planning, scheduling and supervising maintenance personnel in the completion of their duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plans work activities and establishes work schedules and staffing requirements.
- Assists Manager in interviewing, selection, promotion and evaluation of applicants and employees according to university policies and procedures.
- Estimates job requirements, including staffing, equipment, parts, materials and supplies for designated work unit.
- Trains group leaders and other employees in new or revised work methods and procedures and orients new employees.
- Monitors the effectiveness of preventive maintenance program and provides information about new equipment and technology for program updates.
- Resolving employee complaints and grievances, which includes attendance at complaint or grievance hearings and meetings, and initiates disciplinary processes when necessary.
- Maintains safety and health standards to ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes and regulations, and University policies.
- Actively participates in ongoing department training, pursues specialized training and certifications to stay abreast of industry changes, and advances expertise; uses assigned communication device to read and respond to texts, emails and service requests; interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Starting Annual Rate: $60,835.00 - $96,198.84 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)
QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Business, Science or a related field, post‑secondary vocation, OR technical two‑year school diploma, OR equivalent certification
* AND five (5) years of experience in commercial or industrial maintenance. Two (2) of the five (5) years of experience should show successful progression in responsibilities and demonstrated leadership skills.
* Equivalent certification:
Master card in plumbing or electrical, HVAC state contractor’s license, or NICET certification in industrial instrumentation and controls.

MVR: Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession of a valid driver’s license issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
PhysicalPossess the necessary physical requirements, with or without aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of this position in a timely manner, including:
- Lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Climbing stairs, ladders and scaffolding, and working at heights above thirty (30) feet.
- Performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.
- Working within extreme temperature and humidity ranges with a variety of materials.
- Working in confined spaces.
