Veterinary Receptionist; Care Coordinator - Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists

Position Overview

Join our team as a Care Coordinator (Veterinary Receptionist) at Pet Vet Care Centers' Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center. In this role you will perform a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital, and contributing to the success of a high‑performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service.

• Provides excellent customer service in‑person, over the phone, and during high‑stress situations.
• Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
• Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well‑being.
• Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
• Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assists with retail sales, weighs pets, processes faxes, and maintains records.
• Reconciles cash drawer and performs end‑of‑day duties for accurate financial transactions.

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Compassionate and empathetic when assisting clients during emotional and stressful situations.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast‑paced emergency environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple phone lines, check‑ins, and emergencies simultaneously.
• Proficient with computer systems, electronic medical records, and basic office software.
• Professional demeanor with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
• Previous veterinary or medical reception experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow within both client service and administrative responsibilities.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the veterinary field.
• Excellent opportunity for students studying to become RVT's or Assistants.

• Tuesday 6:00 pm – 1:00 am
• Friday 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
• Saturday & Sunday 5:30 pm – 1:00 am
• Flexible scheduling arrangements may be considered.
