Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of distinguished candidates for a faculty appointment Christian Ministries, as part of the department of Biblical Studies, Christian Ministries, Intercultural Studies, and Philosophy. This is a tenure track position, begins in August 2026 and is pending board approval. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Mission and Commitment

Taylor's mission is to develop servant-leaders marked with a passion to minister Christ's redemptive love, grace, and truth to a world in need. As a community, Taylor faculty, staff, and students commit to living out Christ's love and truth in the here and now. We worship together, serve one another, and grow in faith as we learn in the classroom, on the field, at chapel, and anywhere else we're doing Life Together.

The appointee will teach courses in the undergraduate Christian Ministries program. Applicants should be ready to teach a variety of classes across the undergraduate curriculum, with a focus on Spiritual Formation, Leadership Development, Teaching, and Christian Discipleship. Faculty teaching loads are twenty-four hours spread over a 4-1-4 academic calendar year. Additionally, this appointee will hold the position of Assistant Director of the Taylor University Center for Scripture Engagement with a teaching load reduction of three hours.

Appropriate earned doctorate is preferred but consideration will be given to candidates in the midst of doctoral studies. Prior ministry experience is necessary. A specialization in a particular area of ministry is desirable (e.g., children, youth, urban, camping). Quality teaching with some college teaching experience is desirable. Candidates should also know that as a department we affirm the university statement that "the Holy Bible is the only inspired, authoritative written word of God, progressively revealing God's will for humankind," and that, therefore, the Bible, correctly interpreted, is true and trustworthy in all it affirms.

The BSCIP department consists of sixteen full-time faculty members (3 full-time in Christian Ministries, plus adjuncts) and provides instruction in biblical literature, theology, Christian ministry, philosophy, and intercultural studies.  Undergraduate majors are offered in biblical literature, Christian ministries, philosophy, youth ministry, and intercultural studies (missions). The Christian Ministry program is the fourth fastest growing program at Taylor, currently enrolling 140 majors and minors.

Graduates in all programs sometimes pursue additional schooling and 95% of ministry major graduates enter full time church and parachurch vocations immediately upon graduation. The department also contributes significantly to the foundational core curriculum of all undergraduate students.
