Position Summary
The Student Employment coordinator works with the Dean of Student Success in advancing the goals of the Good Work Initiative.
This position is primarily responsible to:
* Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University's Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
* Work toward increasing the overall quantity and quality of on-campus student employment opportunities.
* Collaborate with People and Operations to develop and provide training and professional development opportunities for managers and student employees.
* Build network for development of the Good Work Intern program.
* Assist in the development and dissemination of the Good Work Co-Curricular Transcript
* Participate in Calling and Career Office staff meetings and work alongside CCO team members on initiatives for the office.
* Assist in the hiring, training, and managing of CCO student intern team.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Bachelor's degree with a major or concentration in a relevant field, required. Relevant fields include Management, HR, Psychology, or Communications, or similar. Preference given to candidates holding a master's degree (in Business, Leadership, or Higher Education, or related field).
* At least two years of higher education / student development, preferred.
* Professional experience in career development, preferred.
* Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with others from varying cultures and backgrounds.
* Understanding of a variety of work environments (gained through professional experience or education), and ability to articulate differences in professional work contexts.
* Ability to represent Taylor University well to internal and external stakeholders and guests.
* Excellent management skills with the ability to mentor students in their professional development.
* Competent in using various computer software, including Microsoft Office suite.
* Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
