Overview
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for operating, inspecting, repairing, maintaining of the power plant, auxiliary equipment, emergency generators/switch gear, cogeneration, sterilizers, and related process equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Three to five years in plant operation and equipment repair working within a commercial facility or institution preferred. Experience working on engines, generators, condensers, pumps, compressors, and boilers required.
Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of pump function, maintemance and repair, brazing, electrical troubleshooting, boiler operation, and blueprint reading. Basic computer skills necessary.
License/Certifications: If hired after January 1, 2013 a 500 HP Los Angeles Steam License is required within one year of hire. For those hired prior to January 1, 2013 a 500 HP Los Angeles Steam License is required. EPA 608 Certification preferred.
Equipment: Boilers, cogeneration engines, chillers, absorbers, cooling towers, sterilizers, pumps and computers. Employee provides basic personal hand tools.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
PAY RANGE
$33.07 - $49.61
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.
For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
