Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our private practice in the primary care setting and family medicine in Upland, CA. The ideal candidate will provide essential clinical and administrative support and patient care in an outpatient setting, ensuring a high standard of service for our patients, including those in geriatrics. This role is critical in facilitating smooth operations within the medical office and enhancing the overall patient experience.

• Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
• Administer vaccines and medications as directed by physicians and nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for billing purposes.
• Provide exceptional patient service, addressing inquiries and concerns with empathy.
• Conduct routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and preparing patients for examination.
• Front office tasks include checking in patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying eligibility and coverage.
• Back office tasks include sending referrals, submitting prior authorizations, and sending imaging orders.
• Support the healthcare team in managing patient flow and ensuring a clean environment.
• Educate patients on medication administration techniques, including inhalation methods when necessary.

• 3 years of experience in a medical assistant support role in a primary care setting is required.
• Strong understanding of the referral process and obtaining medication prior‑authorization.
• Proficient in electronic medical records systems (EMR). Athena preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism.
• Medical assistant certification.
• BLS certification is current.
• Arabic speaking is required for this position.
