Shift Sergeant

Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the safety of patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assets, and premises.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Three years in law enforcment and/or security in a hospital setting. Demonstrated leadership experience in a Security / Law Enforcement / Military organization environment.

Knowledge and

Skills:

Good verbal and written communication skills. Have excellent decision-making skills in complex and simple problem solving situations. Intermediate computer skills. Good driving record.

License/

Certifications:

Valid California Guard Card. Valid California Drivers License and approval by the hospitals insurance company as insurable. American Heart Associations (AHA) BLS card for Healthcare workers (within 1 month of hire date/ transfer). Hospital approved workplace violence course (within 3 months of hire date/ transfer). HAZMAT certified (within 6 months of hire date/ transfer). A.H.S.S Basic Security Officer Certification (within 6 months of hire/ transfer).

A.H.S.S Advance Security Officer Certification (within 12 months of hire/ transfer).I.A.H.S.S Supervisor training (within 18 months of hire date/ transfer).

Equipment: Hand-held Motorola radio, vehicles, and computers.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

PAY RANGE

$23.00 - $34.25

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate's relevant experience and skills.

For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate's individual experience.
