Journeyman Glazier (6 Week Project)

This role focuses on commercial glazing work, including the installation, replacement, and fabrication of a wide range of glass systems and components across multiple project sites in Upland. The Journeyman Glazier applies 3–5 years of trade experience to complete high-quality installations safely and efficiently on commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities
  • Install and replace glass systems on commercial projects, ensuring accurate measurements, proper fit, and high-quality finishes.
  • Perform commercial glazing work on curtain walls, storefront systems, wind screens, showers, mirrors, heavy glass partitions, and Herculite entrances.
  • Complete door, frame, and hardware installations according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Fabricate glass and related components in preparation for installation, following detailed plans and shop drawings where applicable.
  • Apply glazing compounds, sealants, and caulking to ensure watertight and secure installations.
  • Perform punched opening installations and related glazing tasks on commercial building envelopes.
  • Operate boom lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts to access work areas and move materials safely on the job site.
  • Handle and lift glass and related materials up to 50 pounds as part of daily installation and fabrication tasks.
  • Use swing stages and other access equipment when required for elevated or hard-to-reach installations.
  • Work collaboratively with field crews and site teams to complete projects on schedule and in line with quality expectations.
  • Follow all safety procedures and site rules while working on commercial construction projects.
Essential Skills
  • 3–5 years of experience as a glazier, with a focus on commercial projects.
  • Proven installation experience with commercial glass systems, including curtain walls and storefronts.
  • Hands-on experience installing and replacing glass in showers, mirrors, wind screens, and heavy glass partitions.
  • Proficiency in door, frame, and hardware installation on commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to fabricate glass and related components accurately for installation.
  • Strong glazing skills, including proper handling, setting, and securing of glass.
  • Proficiency in sealing and caulking to create watertight and durable installations.
  • Experience with punched opening installations in commercial building applications.
  • Capability to safely lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Experience working on commercial-level construction projects in the field.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Forklift and aerial lift certifications are a plus.
  • OSHA safety certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with swing stage work on commercial projects is beneficial.
  • Background in general labor or warehouse work within a construction or glazing environment is an advantage.
Work Environment

The role is based on commercial-level construction projects in the field, working primarily on first shift. You will work outdoors and indoors on active job sites, frequently using tools and equipment such as boom lifts, aerial lifts, forklifts, and swing stages. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds and frequent movement around the job site.

Standard construction-site attire and personal protective equipment are required in accordance with site safety rules.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Upland, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
