Rate of Pay$16.40/hr.
DescriptionSupports the assistant and lead teachers with classroom.
NOTE:
The below lists are not ranked in order of importance.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with groups of young children
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Basic computer skills and excellent keyboarding skills
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations
- Provide classroom teacher coverage when the lead or assistant teacher is absent.
- Assist classrooms with curricular activities when not needed to cover an absent teacher.
- Attend and fully participate in all classroom functions and activities including but not limited to indoor & outdoor exploration, field trips, and other school-wide events (such as open houses, field trips, etc.).
- Ensure safety of students.
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student records.
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents.
- Practice the Burbank Early Childhood School philosophy.
- Establish and promote successful relationships among children and adults.
- Contribute to a high quality classroom environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
