Salary: $18.01–$19.72 per hour
Reports to:
Classroom teacher, building principal, or other designee
Probationary Period: 120 work days

- Assist teachers with classroom and other duties.
- Supervise cafeteria, classrooms, computer facilities, and bus areas during periods when the teacher is absent.
- Monitor student behavior, recommend disciplinary actions, and refer students to the principal or relevant teachers when necessary.
- Resolve minor conflicts between students.
- Use copy machine, laminating equipment, computers, audio‑visual equipment to reproduce and produce instructional materials.
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce or extend learning activities and assist with assignments.
- Assist students in using computers for programmed learning activities.
- Hang or arrange displays of student work or educational materials.
- Maintain records pertaining to students by organizing and entering data.
- Contact parents to schedule appointments and obtain information needed by the teacher.
- Coordinate with other personnel to schedule spaces or services.
- Help arrange field trips and schedule parent volunteers.
- Serve as a role model for students.
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Various office machines, computer/printer, television/DVD player, subject‑specific equipment.
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Interaction with children who may be experiencing dysregulation and/or trauma.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent movement around the workspace and school building.
- High school diploma or higher.
- Valid educational aide certificate (or equivalent as approved by the Superintendent/Board).
- Ability to work effectively with others, communicate ideas and directives clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Effective listening skills, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Skills that foster and facilitate learning and classroom management.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Employee shall remain free of alcohol or non‑prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace.
