Certified Medication Tech- FT or PT 7:00am - 5:30pm or 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Job Description

The 7:00am - 5:30pm and the 3:00pm - 11:30pm shifts are FT or PT positions. The Medication Aide dispenses medications and provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, moving safely to activities or functions, and caring for the resident's environment. The Medication Aide will also assist the nurse in charge. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, has completed and passed the Medication Administration Training Program, and has a genuine desire to work with the elderly or disabled.

Prior experience is preferred. Effective oral and written skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

• Dispenses medications under the direction of a licensed nurse according to established procedures
• Helps residents with all personal care functions as needed
• Helps residents to and from daily activities
• Measures and records vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, etc., and reports any changes in condition
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
• Communicates with residents regarding care

• High school diploma or GED
• Passed the Medication Administration Training Program
• Previous experience preferred
• Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
• Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
