Position: Relocation Coordinator (Temporary)

Description

The Relocation Coordinator (Temporary) position focuses on planning, coordinating, monitoring, and facilitating many aspects of the move of the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission offices from Brookens Administrative Building to 2107 S Neil St., Champaign, in late 2026. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, this position requires a flexible schedule. Hours will fluctuate based on project timelines and relocation activities.

The project will take approximately 600–800 hours to complete.

Responsibilities
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff at all organizational levels.
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, movers, and internal departments in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Apply strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected issues during relocation activities.
  • Be onsite for extended periods during moving activities, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
Education and Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience using scheduling systems or project tracking tools.
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in office coordination, facilities coordination, project coordination, event coordination, relocation management, or related operational support roles.
  • Experience coordinating office moves, facilities projects, or multi‑department logistics preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license is required depending on business needs.
Schedule and Compensation

Schedule:

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday (flexibility necessary to support the relocation project).

Location:

1776

E. Washington Street, Urbana, IL 61802.

Status:
Temporary.

Starting Wage: $24.00 – $29.00 per hour.
