One of the top MEP contractors in the US is looking for an experienced Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator in Greater Chicago. You will be working on a range of project sectors, such as commercial, mission critical, healthcare, residential, education, labs, and more! What you'll be doing:
- Analyze plans/specifications and perform detailed take-offs (materials, labor, equipment, overhead) to produce accurate cost estimates, including all hidden or implied work
- Lead junior estimators and collaborate across teams
- Solicit, compare and negotiate vendor/subcontractor pricing, maintain current cost databases, and identify value engineering opportunities without sacrificing code compliance or system performance
- Prepare bid proposals, support budget forecasting, attend pre-bid/site meetings, and ensure smooth transition of awarded work to project management/construction teams
Must Haves:
- 2-5+ years professional experience in plumbing estimation - preferably at a plumbing/mechanical subcontractor
- Experience across a range of building sectors, like healthcare, commercial, etc

Salary: $70,000 to $100,000 (negotiable, dependent on experience)
