Job Summary

The 21st Century CCLC/SPLASH coordinator is responsible for the overall workings of this before and after school program, including planning and preparation, staff hiring, daily operations supervision, and student supervision for grades 2‑5 within the parameters established by funding and school district procedures. The coordinator must be energetic, creative, and willing to work hours outside of the school day.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and implement the grant‑based after‑school program in accordance with district and grant policies and regulations for the elementary school.
  • Assist the administrative team in planning and designing the program and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
  • Engage staff to develop instructional and assessment practices that link the school‑day curriculum with the extended‑day program.
  • Work with staff to outreach and actively engage students and families in the program.
  • Facilitate the development and selection of project‑based, interactive after‑school enrichment programming focused on college and career awareness.
  • Develop procedures and policies for operation of the after‑school program.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff, including planning schedules, reviewing timesheets, submitting stipend requests, and arranging substitute coverage for absences.
  • Maintain student enrollment records, schedules, and all necessary documentation.
  • Meet regularly with extended‑day staff, facilitate orientation trainings, and staff development activities.
  • Work with community contractual partners to plan and implement project components; facilitate partner orientation.
  • Collaborate with school‑district partners (Building Principal, Mentor/Volunteer Coordinator, Classroom Teachers, Social Worker, Family Liaison) to integrate program components.
  • Promote and market program information to students, parents, and the community.
  • Maintain and reconcile budget documentation and report information to the administrative team in a timely fashion.
  • Meet deadlines, follow protocol, and complete required reports and grant documentation.
  • Assist in data collection for the evaluation team and collaborate to report findings.
  • Manage program logistics (assign rooms, manage materials and resources).
  • Initiate and meet all responsibilities in a timely manner.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required;
    Master's preferred.
  • Administrative endorsement or equivalent desired.

Experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to plan, design, and implement a grant program.
  • Experience coordinating programs.
  • Experience in the field of education, recreation, and/or grant management.
  • Experience working with community organizations.
  • Experience in bilingual education desired.
  • Must be a current USD #116 employee.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Ability to manage both daytime and extended‑day duties.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to make decisions and exercise independent judgment regarding student conduct.
  • Leadership ability in all areas of program administration, instruction, and assessment.
  • Experience maintaining fiscal records, collecting data, and meeting reporting requirements.
Terms of Employment
  • This is an hourly position, with a $1500 planning stipend, and is contingent on the continuation of grant funding.
  • CCLC/SPLASH program hours are generally 7:00‑8:00 AM and 3:00‑6:00 PM for afternoon sessions, Monday‑Thursday, as applicable per building location.
  • Coordinators must be available for session hours at their building location and for additional time required to prepare and coordinate the program.
  • Must be a current USD #116 employee.

This position is not part of the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of support personnel.
