Clinical Curriculum Coordinator – School of Social Work

Provider Assistance Training Hub (PATH)Job Summary
Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for clinical curriculum development and training implementation across PATH programs. Coordinates the design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of synchronous and asynchronous clinical training curricula. Ensures curriculum and training products align with clinical best practices, Systems of Care (SOC) principles, TCOM philosophy, accessibility standards, adult learning methodologies, and programmatic requirements. Provides leadership and oversight of curriculum development activities, facilitates Training of Trainers (TOT) processes, coordinates feedback sessions, evaluates training effectiveness, and supports the professional development of specialists and lead staff.
Working collaboratively with PATH leadership, Clinical Quality Review (CQR) teams, SMEs, and external stakeholders, promotes fidelity, consistency, and quality across clinical training content and supports successful implementation of new initiatives and Medicaid service delivery models throughout Illinois.
Curriculum Development and Program Leadership
- Serve as the lead SME for clinical curriculum development across PATH initiatives.
- Coordinate the development, review, revision, and implementation of clinical training curricula for synchronous and asynchronous learning environments.
- Ensure consistency and fidelity of curriculum content related to TCOM, CANS, SOC principles, trauma-informed care, assessment, care planning, and other behavioral health initiatives.
- Collaborate with PATH leadership, CQR teams, and program stakeholders to identify curriculum needs and prioritize training development.
- Oversee Training of Trainers (TOT) programs and the development of supporting instructional materials.
- Ensure curriculum products meet accessibility standards.
- Coordinate curriculum review processes and incorporate evaluation findings into continuous improvement efforts.
Training Delivery and Workforce Development
- Facilitate Training of Trainers/Feedback sessions and model effective instructional strategies for staff and providers.
- Schedule, coordinate, and lead training sessions to support staff skill development and curriculum mastery.
- Provide coaching and consultation on training facilitation, curriculum implementation, and transfer of learning strategies.
- Support providers in identifying agency-specific implementation challenges and developing practical strategies to support successful program implementation.
- Evaluate participant learning outcomes and training effectiveness to inform future training design and continuous improvement efforts.
Staff Leadership, Mentorship, and Oversight
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to specialist staff engaged in curriculum development and training activities.
- Coordinate and monitor curriculum-related assignments, timelines, and deliverables.
- Observe training facilitation and mock practice sessions and document strengths, areas for improvement, and recommendations.
- Provide coaching and developmental feedback to support staff performance and professional growth.
- Participate in interviewing, onboarding, and evaluation processes for specialist-level positions.
- Foster collaboration, communication, accountability, and continuous quality improvement among curriculum and training staff.
- Serve as a resource to PATH leadership on staff development needs and curriculum implementation challenges.
Quality Improvement and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with CQR team to develop standardized processes for training, coaching, and curriculum development processes.
- Monitor curriculum implementation and training outcomes to support quality, consistency, and alignment with program goals.
- Analyze training feedback and performance data to recommend curriculum enhancements and process improvements.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with state agencies, providers, SME's, and community stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional work groups, committees, and project teams to support PATH initiatives.
Other Duties
- Travel throughout Illinois, as needed, to provide training, coaching, technical assistance, and program support.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Statewide travel required. Travel may be necessary multiple days per week to support training, coaching, technical assistance, and project implementation activities.
Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Education, Public Health, or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum three (3) years of behavioral health, clinical services, or human services experience.
