Teacher Assistant

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available for Teacher Assistants at Circle Academy, a non-public special education school serving youth ages 5-21 in Champaign County and Vermilion County. Join our therapeutic day school team that empowers students with emotional and behavioral challenges to have successful experiences in school, at home, and in the community. We are currently hiring Teacher Assistants for the Urbana and Rossville locations.

The Teacher Assistant contributes to the educational experience by supporting certified special education teachers and students in the classroom environment. The Teacher Assistant will help create a structured, nurturing classroom that fosters academic and social growth. ISBE Para-Professional license is required, and previous experience in a school setting is preferred. Successful Teacher Assistants enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Prospective Teacher Assistants must be at least 21 years old, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to maintain our clients' confidentiality. Candidates must also submit to a pre-employment physical and background check.

Circle Academy Urbana:

• $18.57 – $34.31 per hour

Circle Academy Rossville:

• High school diploma (or GED) or associate degree: $16.77 – $27.23 per hour
• Associate's degree: $18.78 – $30.46 per hour
• Bachelor's degree: $19.96 – $32.26 per hour

Education:

High school diploma or better.

Experience:

Preferred one year of work in a school setting.

Certifications:

Preferred ISBE Para Professional.
