TITLE: 21 st CCLC After-School Program Teacher

LOCATION: Urbana High School

SUPERVISOR: This position reports to the Coordinator of 21 st CCLC and UHS Administration

JOB SUMMARY: The 21 st CCLC teacher will provide one on one and small group tutoring for UHS students attending the after school program. All instruction/support will be done during after-school hours as part of an after-school program. The applicant must be proficient in high school level coursework, instruction, and support for students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In order to be successful in this position, the individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Answer questions and provide a reteach of information to high school students on homework assigned during the school day.
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with a variety of high school academic subjects (including but not limited to Math, Science, and Language Arts).
  • Take student attendance and submit the records at the assigned time.
  • Initiate contact with students and encourages them to seek out assistance in the after school program.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the students attending the after school program.
  • Ask for guidance and assistance from the coordinator when unable to assist a student.
  • Monitor and supervise the student’s behavior within the assigned classroom or space.
  • Follow and enforce all program and school rules. Report infractions to the site coordinator.
  • Reinforce and gather student sign in procedures and turn in on a daily basis.
  • Arrive on time forafter school programming and stay until the end of the session.
  • Actively participate in the program and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • College degree

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience tutoring secondary level (high school or middle school) students desired
  • College Coursework in Education, Math, Science, English, Engineering, or related field desired
  • Current USD #116 employee

START DATE:

NOTE: This position is notpart of the collective bargaining unit and is notan administrative position. $32/hour

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of support personnel.
