Adjunct Professor – Law
University of Illinois College of Law, Urbana Champaign – Urbana, IL
Type:
Adjunct/Part-Time
The University of Illinois College of Law regularly employs distinguished lawyers and academics as adjunct professors. The position is a 5–10 percent academic appointment for the Fall 2026 semester, beginning in August 2026.
Responsibilities- Teach courses that meet once or twice per week between mid‑August and early December in the Law Building, Champaign.
- A J.D. and two or more years of legal experience are required.
- Prior teaching experience and a current law license are strongly preferred.
- Salary: $3,000 to $8,000, depending on credit hours.
- Position not eligible for university benefits.
- Eligibility for sponsorship of work authorization, except for new H1B petition incurring a $100,000 fee.
