The candidate will be responsible for engineering material handling systems. Each system is custom-designed per client based on the optimal solution. This requires a team effort involving mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that meets the customer’s requirements for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and cost.

• Design and enhance conveyor systems and various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may work on parts of larger projects or smaller projects in their entirety.
• Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications.
• Coordinate activities related to technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and testing issues.
• Prepare and review approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
• Obtain quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders for materials and products.
• Monitor project schedules, engineering time, and material costs.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the engineered solutions and equipment fit within system constraints.
• Travel up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve engineering issues by working with customers, vendors, and team members.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of experience related to material handling systems.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solid Works.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
