Sr. Food Scientist

• Plan and execute product development activities from concept through commercialization with a key eye toward manufacturing process
• Oversee the transfer of technical knowledge to Operations team post commercialization
• Develop research programs to drive cost optimizations
• Identify problems and drive cross functional explorations to determine root cause
• Work effectively with Manufacturing and Supply Chain during commercialization
• Provide recommendations on specifications and quality criteria for new and existing products
• Collaborate with both internal and external partners including Procurement, Marketing, Project Management, Sales, Regulatory, Procurement, Quality and Operations
• Provide technical leadership within the organization and to our clients
• Simultaneously execute multiple projects with flexibility to redirect efforts as needed
• Mentor and direct activities of other scientists on the team

• 10 plus years of experience in food product development with an emphasis on plant commercialization of bakery products
• Proven track record of bringing new concepts to life
• Experience in mentoring team members
• BS or MS in Food Science, Food Engineering, or Bakery Science preferred. Other educational backgrounds may be considered along with commensurate experience in plant commercialization

This position may travel between different manufacturing facilities as needed, all located within 30 min of each other and may need to be at more than one facility on the same day
