Home Equity Loan Specialist
The Home Equity Loan Specialist supports members through the application, processing, and closing of home equity loans and lines of credit. This role works closely with members, lending partners, and internal teams to ensure a smooth, accurate, and compliant lending experience. The Home Equity Loan Specialist combines strong knowledge of lending products with excellent member service to help members leverage their home equity in support of their financial goals.
This position will assist in fulfilling the mission of the credit union and will maintain a strong member service chain in order to create and maintain loyalty with both internal/external members and vendors. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional service to both internal and external members and demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization's Do More Good culture by fostering a positive work environment and promoting our core values in all interactions.
- Review and analyze initial loan application and supporting documentation provided, evaluating if additional documentation will be needed to satisfy loan conditions for approval.
- Work closely with underwriting to order necessary reports and additional reports as needed.
- Accurately input information in loan origination system (LOS) to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
- Follow established regulations when disclosing Loan Estimate, Change in Circumstances and Closing Disclosure.
- Sustain a pipeline report of loans efficiently and accurately and review daily to ensure loans are moving forward in a timely manner.
- Confirm and schedule closing, coordinate signing and properly review all signed loan documentations for accuracy prior to funding.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ensure priority responsibilities are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Identify and suggest process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Own internal and external member problems, issues and complaints and ensure the proper follow up or escalation to achieve proper resolution.
Performance Measurements:
Meet or exceed individual and organizational goals as outlined in the performance goal document for this position.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of credit union's product and services as well as compliance items (BSA/AML/HR, HMDA and OFAC) through self-study and available training and development opportunities. Must receive passing score on all required assessments.
Maintain appropriate level of attendance and timeliness to ensure the highest level of service to both internal and external members. When possible, absences should be scheduled in advance.

Experience:
Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education:
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal
Skills:
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
