Position:
Full‑time, day shift (40 hrs/week). No remote work. Includes department rotation weekend, holiday, and on‑call schedules.
The Echo Technologist oversees technical procedures, patient care and work flows in the echocardiography laboratory. Performs a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing. Assists performing physicians and sonographers in providing high quality echo cardiographic exams.

- Performs routine and complex echo cardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
- Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors and alignment; reviews patient data for accuracy, quality and completeness.
- Documents accurately and completely.
- Cross‑trains to other divisions of CV Services.
- Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
- Completes documentation of studies performed and charges in Epic, and completes preliminary info in Xcelera for physician reading.
- Included in a rotation of call through the week and on weekends with other team members.
- Team‑mindful and provides compassionate care and quality studies to our community of patients.
- Performs all forms of Echo testing (exercise stress; dobutamine stress; echoes; pediatric echoes; transesophageal echoes) in a timely fashion.
- Seeks to advance knowledge in all aspects of Echo with an open mind to constructive learning and teaching.
- Associate’s Degree in Sonography or experience in lieu of education.

Diag Cardiac Sono (ARDMS) – variation - OR
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) AND
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Previous healthcare experience, 1+ year.
- Positive attitude and proven willingness to assess and improve work environment.
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow.

The compensation range for this position is $32.57 per hour - $56.02 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
